I'm pretty sure this is where I ended last month, too. Military service is so all-encompassing. Gratitude seems so meager to fully express. The debt of gratitude can never be fully paid. RESPECT is the lasting currency. Truly Hand, over my heart! Jay O'Toole |

The prompt is an illustration of a child on a swing. We're supposed to write the poem from the Point of View of a child." I loved to swing as a child. Wish I could now, but not as many opportunities. Sunday lunch was such an impediment. I loved to play always. Mom might shout after me, "Don't play fast for a few minutes! You just ate!" This poem is the aftermath of this AD/HD child, who loved to play fast, no matter how recently he ate. Maybe you can relate. on Church Day, Sunday, March 1st, 2026 by Jay O'Toole, (Little Jay's older friend) |

| I've added a new entry to my book, "These Are My JOTtings, Part #2" : "Board of Surfing" Today's poem is in response to Prompt #8 (February 8th, 2026) for the challenge group,
This day's prompt was the picture of a man on a surfboard or standing on a reef or possibly a concrete wall when the roiling waves overtake his footing with apparently grim consequences. Since we are to end the poem at the immediate aftermath, we are left to wonder of his situation. Is it ultimately good or bad? A follow-up poem seems most appropriate, but alas not today... Be blessed, Everyone. Jay O'Toole |
