I'll admit that I am not a big fan of video games so the homework vs. Sims issue would be a non issue in my house. Homework would win hands down. Anything over a video game would win. I can understand your viewpoint when it comes to the game but for me it's the real life stuff that matters. You can always escape reality ONCE the homework is done.

I was recently diagnosed with Type II diabetes so I know how the food thing can be a real issue in someones life. I am having a hard time with my "sweets" addiction too. The fact that you have educated yourself and know how to keep your sugars in check is the main thing. Most cases of gestational diabetes go away once the baby is born. In my last pregnancy, 12 years ago, the doctors said I was borderline for it. Although I never got it I did deliver a 10 pound 4 ounce baby girl! Good luck to you!

Boy, does this ever bring back memories! I had a sled exactly like this when I was a kid. It was good but the aluminum toboggans on an ice covered hill would go like snot! I would never get on one of them now even if you paid me though.

I knew at the beginning of this story that is was exceptional. What I didn't know was that it would bring tears to my eyes. The simple gesture of Captain Stark calling Billy "William" for the very first time as he went down with his ship, touched my heart. I can only imagine the feelings that Billy would have felt in this same instance.

The feelings of pain and dread that I felt exude from this poem are paralyzing. This piece wraps you in a cloak of darkness as you read it. It's quite powerful.
