Review of Jacked!  Open in new Window.
Review by Boz Author IconMail Icon
Rated: E | (4.0)
Your poem has been jacked from start to finish. By pondering over the satirical implications it is conspicuous that in every nook and corner of the society things do not turn round as per our wishes. Everywhere there is deceit and disloyalty. But who can be so pretentious to change the world? Indeed the poem reflects all the evil realities of the world we live in. Jacked for being perfect.

You poet is dedicated to a special and unique flower which is blooming in your own garden. This specific flower has a particular colour and fragrance which only the gardener can appraise. Compared to all the other flowers this one will not wither and perfume your life. This line is well adapted' You deserve a vase'. Keep watering your flower so that it remains fresh and fragrant.

The expedition led by Shackleton is a rare example of bravery and perseverance. Despite all the impediments and difficulties which he and his crew had to face they were not disheartened at all. The ship persisted on its voyage and had to confront many obstacles on its path to South Georgia. It's good to plunge into history from time to time. Modern explorers have a to learn a lot from Shackleton.

Review of One Last Ride  Open in new Window.
Review by Boz Author IconMail Icon
Rated: ASR | (4.0)
The story is based on the details about the previous life of Sally. It depicts how she was very active when she was younger. Now that she's older, she visualises her days of youth making a flashback of the days when she used to ride horses excellently. The author then diverts our attention towards another fact. Sally is now ill and needs medication from the pharmacy. As she lives alone there is nobody to get the pills for her. During her ride she meets other people. The story is interesting but it seems to be rather long. Many details could have been omitted.

The poem depicts the importance of living. Life is ephemeral . In the first and second stanzas the theme is about existence. But as it proceeds a sudden change is denoted with a slight digression of the theme. The third one ideals with tranquility whereas the last one evokes about time.Hence, there is no clear cut idea about the topic which the poem deals with.

Review of SHOOTING STARS  Open in new Window.
Review by Boz Author IconMail Icon

The watching of shooting stars is indeed a real pleasure to the eyes. The scenes are beautiful specially at night when tranquility is prevailing. By casting one's glance on the moonlit sky the onlooker visualises the shooting of stars which produce soothing impacts on the mind. But the timing of such events is not always accurate. However, nobody can tell where these stars end up their destination.

The story is thrilling focusing the reader's attention on the only character who appears to be waiting for the right time to shoot at his prey. From past history it is noticed that the killer himself has been a victim of some machination previously. The construction of the story looks well worked with the setting up of only one sentence for one idea. The final scene depicts some sort of relief for the killer.

Really interesting poem. I enjoyed reading it. The mouse made up its mind to befriend you. However, all your tricks failed to get rid of it. it's intention was to live together with you. Tempted by cheese it remained in your house. After you fed it the mouse wanted to have more and more .food. It was an ingenious trick to teach your neighbour a lesson by using the mouse.

Review of A Man  Open in new Window.
Review by Boz Author IconMail Icon
Rated: 13+ | (4.0)
The poem deals with the supernatural as deduced from the opening line. This is my first impression. But as you proceed along it digresses to other themes. The writer describes various situations of life whereby the character is depicted as a feeble creature. He seems to be lost in an unknown world. The poem needs clarification in certain lines.

The poem depicts how the sorceress uses her magical charms to ensnare young men and hypnotize them. As men have a weakness for beautiful women the y easily fall into their traps. One thing which you have underlined in the poem is the'emerald green gaze' with which the woman enchants her prey. The consequence is fatal with the death of the young man. The poem should be considered as a premonition to dashing young men.

Review of Foolishness  Open in new Window.
Review by Boz Author IconMail Icon
Rated: E | (4.0)
A poem based on lost love. What can be more unfortunate to have something and then lose it? It depicts to what extent the lover is frustrated to have lost his beloved. In every nook and corner he visualises her image and remembers deeply about his special person. This is the greatest mistake you have committed. Once you have a bird in hand you must close your fist so that it does not fly away.

The story is good reflection about using drugs to boost up performances in sports. Throughout various competitions it has been noticed how athletes abuse of steroids and other substances to break records. This has been severely condemned by international sports federations . Considered as cheating it is strictly forbidden in the sports competitions. Here it is a good example of of using performance enhancers to surpass the adversary.

The poem makes the writer go into a flashback about the dream concerning the lover. It gives an idea about the sentimental aspect of the dream. It illustrates the feeling of the lover during the wedding of his beloved with another partner. It seems that the faithful lover has a good knowledge about his rival and has spent time in his company. He gives the impression to get along well the opponent. Only in the last line he talks about obssesion

Review of My Nephew  Open in new Window.

A poem dedicated to your nephew. It is obvious from the lines that you share a unique relationship with that child. You have showered love, tenderness and much care upon him so that he grew up happily. Indeed this bond is beyond description and unbreakable. It seems that if one day he is aloof from you it will be unbearable .

The story revolves around tears and regrets. At the beginning it sounds somehow fictitious. But as the plot unravels it give a clearer picture of the situation. On reading further the reader gets the impression that the person concerned is mourning over the death of a beloved one. He is morally upset and has great remorse over what has happened to her. The suspense is maintained till the end when we know about Nicole.

Review of With the Tide  Open in new Window.

Rated: ASR | (3.5)
A long exhaustive story narrating the preparations of the voyage to the unknown. Many bulky descriptions have been exposed to impress the reader. All the passengers are excited about the travel. The hustle bustle can be felt many hours before the departure. With the introduction of so many characters there is a tendency for confusion about who is who? In my opinion the writing needs simplification avoiding the unnecessary details.

A story reminiscent of the pre- marital period when both persons were still dating. Families from the husband's side and the woman's side were enthusiastic about the union. Many years before the wedding the families acquainted with each other. There were regular meetings and get together parties. The bride dips into the past when she asks a very sensitive question to her father- in -law making him emotional. He feels much touched by this question.

The story begins well with the description of the sisters and putting emphasis on their characters. The reader gets an overview of the mode of living of the girls forming the family. But as it progresses it creates some sort of confusion in the mind about who is who.? At certain points there is a digression from the main topic specially about the teachings. Do you refer to male nurses when speaking about brothers? It needs better clarification.

Review of The life of a sim  Open in new Window.
Review by Boz Author IconMail Icon
Rated: E | (3.5)
Your poem is based on imaginative events and characters. Changing sex, looking for jobs , becoming old, everything happening automatically. It seems that the life of the individual has already been programmed.. If viewed from the funny side the poem appears to amuse the reader. It lacks some seriousness although it is very light. Not bad as a beginner I would say

Review of Lost  Open in new Window.
Review by Boz Author IconMail Icon
Rated: 13+ | (4.0)
The poem delves into the pysche- mind of the distracted individual. He /she seems to have lost in thoughts. There is a tendency to relive past memories which are conducive to this lost. The poet is not living in the present. With all those preoccupations in the mind, it is rather cumbersome to recall what's going on actually. But with a distracted mind the fellow cannot go far in life.
