This is a review for "Unicorn Bunny Writing Contest". Good morning!
I love your contest entry! It's curt, apropriate, up-beat. Many things go into a magical piece like this. It enmeshes a sense of goodness and awakens just what we want to see in a piece. Dialogue? Excellent! Description? Brilliant. I enjoyed its meaning, sense of extra-ordinary. I value what you do in an entry here. Thanks for the careful work.
Saw it in the Newsfeed. This particular piece. Always a joy to know that men and women write so well on WDC. I would hope you get recognition, W.D. Nice job!
I think about this and wonder why i get writer's block at times. With your "Pegasus" it moves and gives us a nice focus at something . . . something upwind and cute, as well. I like the piece. Voracious readers from WDC might want to consider pieces like this as stepping stones to what is the hardest part of writing: a block or a period of time which is sad for a writer at times because nothing quite gels yet. Thank you. Good work with icons. Happy Valentine's Day!
I liked this piece that was listed in the Poetry Newsletter. Congrats. I also liked the poem for what it stands for and I think that it is about human rights, human dignity, human goodness and the kind of kindness that tells us all about freedom. Thanks. It's just my opinion, my comprehending it this way. Hope you enjoy the rest of Party Central's celebration.
I am reviewing this piece for Good Deeds get CASH.
This is a very steady, very aware, very meaningful to its sources piece. I might find it something easy to read on the eye like maybe Flash Fiction. Without a word count I am not sure how many words there were here. I liked it. It was not too much of a job to finish it off and then take it all in a couple of times to make sure I got the full treatment of it.
Fishing can be a reality check, I guess. As you have displayed in your words. Imagery? Very nice. I would have liked to have seen a comma followed by a quotation mark with a speaking verb following even if it came up once, but it didn't. Just a preference I have. You used a quote with a period and then quotation mark followed with walking away from that period without a verb. Good job. You might have done this on purpose with exclamation and question marks, I guess.
Wonderful piece of work with feeling, good syntax, good meaningfulness, good sense of direction. I can identify with this
poem for two reasons in my own reality. First, my mother died and I feel the composite of love for "Mama" here. Second of all, I'm getting cataract surgery next month. This is close to home for me. I see the reality of "nurse" in it. I see the very relevant footnote used.
Excellent free verse. My favorite kind of verse. Feminine and yet family-oriented. This poem doesn't let me go until the very end of it. Natural, kind, memorable.
I am reviewing this morning and hope you are well. Thank you for the good sense and knowledge this piece encompasses. It is sad when Easter feelings are mixed with a death in the family and this has happened to me recently. I am hoping to read more spiritual poetry in Newsletters on WDC and this poem is just the heavenly ticket. If it wasn't featured it should be. I have read you in the past and I am sure you are one of my favorites. Let me say it comes from such a well-organized and delightful portfolio and that God's children have a place in life and this is what is so good to write about. The lines and font are with no improvement to my mind. It's what I have said many times. Praise to God. Thank you, Lord.
Knowing Him, is a wonderful subject.
I am reviewing for "Read and Review" this evening. Good evening! Nice to see you in the line-up. I gather that you have used a bit of history-searching for this piece. I have always liked your stuff. This is again painting a picture of Civil War antics and has a good opinion of bias at the end of the poem to which perhaps we, as a nation, have evolved from the past to the present. There is a good lie on lines from beginning to end and you usually make a good search for irony and excellent material in your poems, Harry. I like your spunk. I like your knowledgeable canvas. Thanks for letting me enjoy this. Write on!
I am reading and reviewing for "Read and Review" tonight. Thank you for allowing me the pleasure. I have read and re-read your poem "An Artist's Peek" and found it to be lovely. All that is in Nature can be astounding for us to write about. You have captured the moment! I especially liked the third rhyming stanza. All the images in the poem are strong. I love Nature, too. It amazed me. This poem, too, is a thoughtful one. A reflective journey that we can take for a moment and enter into it. So. Keep writing like this. You have no problems.
I am writing a "Read And Review" review this evening. Hello, Megan Rose. I just love Jane Austen and your writings about her in the contemporary vein. I was especially enthused about your dialogue with this particular part of your Jane Austen tribute. Good management of character and sweet lines of love toward those in the piece that matter to you. Quite often, we authors are taken too much by ourselves and what we are about and forget the great vast world of characters which give us joy while reading them. I think your affections for Jane Austen are very real and valid. Make sure you keep your spelling correct and do not give up. Your imagination is fascinating.
I have enjoyed your rhyming poem here very much. Your colorful imagery and magical quality that captures the joy of Christmas is apparent here and the poem is nicely detailed with lines that I can identify with and therefore I find them memorable. I like the line, "The first snowflakes when they fall"--we might have a white Christmas here in town--and I anticipate the fun of having snow. I know how children make the season so much fun and my relatives are too enjoying it and keeping beat to the "goodwill" that this season knows. That crux of a line--"evil to defeat"--is unmistakably one that gives me a chance to think on what Christ's passion is all about. Keep Christ in Christmas! Thank you for a very nice poem.
Such a nice, pleasant tribute to the King of Kings. I enjoyed this poem. I believe in Christ Jesus and the Blessed Season of Christmas that we celebrate in his name. You have used a sense of joy here that looks like it comes easy for you and yes, giving thanks, is the reason for the season. We enjoyed a bit of a "white Christmas" and may see snow on Christmas day. Like that part in your poem. To make it personal and place it in a small town as a metaphorical composite of loving Christmas for what it is, is very legit and nice to read.
Absolutely exciting stuffy. Love the mirrored images to your personage and the neat dialogue. I love to follow Jane Austen, now, that you introduced me to her. I was a starved reader in high school and I have to admit it! Please take my apology that I don't do more for our members in the Jane Austen Group. It's so nice in there. Will we live in another time now that Megan Rose gives us that chance? I think SO.
Best wishes,
VictoriaMcCullough
Absolutely enchanting. Thank you, Princess Megan Snow Rose, for giving us another chapter of enjoying info on the great Jane Austen. Arsenic as a death potion? Quite interesting. More than that, the details here are considerably good facts to know and think on. So goes another Newsletter in history on WDC.
Commendable material. I want Jane at my table! Bless those children that have started to read her at a young age. It can only be essentially a must for good grades and a wonderful walk through history.
Thank you for a wonderful December newsletter, Megan Rose. I love the fact that this is a subject that I don't know enough about and get to become informed with lots of info concerning Jane Austen. I would love to see the new movie that is coming out that you mentioned. I loved your details concerning Jane and the special way you treat her in your email speeches. Thank you so much for something that has truly come true for me--a well-informed friend on WDC who knows quite a lot about Jane Austen!
Wonderful newsletter! Nice to know the "good witches" of WDC are here for us and giving us all the rundown on what we might like to know about Halloween! Thanks!
I am reviewing this blog for Showering Acts Of Joy. I am only one reviewer and do not reflect a group of reviewers in this review.
** Image ID #rainbowL Unavailable ** I just love your blog. I spent a bit of time with it and see that you are being appropriate with Halloween but as well your feelings for music, and art have been entered in nice, clear entries. I emphasize this. You appear to always consistent and candid with great answers to what you want to blog about. I feel this particular entry with its numbered choices is almost a cool poem. I liked the thoughtfulness of how it was thought-out. You engaged a WDC audience with it easily. Things will always happen with you in your house with a great destiny. Hope you admit to your talent. It is rare and beautiful.
Great Newsletter. I enjoyed the information on Easter especially concerning the Easter Bunny and also the meaning behind church proceedings that you offered. I love all your newsletters and just as a matter of format I would like to comment that I see a kind of style in the writing of all of the newsletters that are informative and catchy, it springs from a personal view that gives us a nice story-type attitude. I find the newsletters encouraging for those who want to Know Facts about different subjects and have no knowledge. Thanks.
Such a great newsletter! I enjoyed knowledge about the "tea" of the day in Jane Austen's home. Liked the details I picked up in coordinance with the certain different Jane Austen novels. Thanks for the info!
If I Had a Bookstore (E) If I had a bookstore...maybe when Wynwidyn Press gets a bit bigger! :) #1930913 by Fyn
this morning. My review does not reflect any one group but is a product of my own reviewing and should be known as such.
Fyn here has given us a wonderful display of words for a bookstore. This is what she is proposing for us. What would it be like? The magical nooks and crannies of a place that we all on WDC might somehow love to own. Platonically, these words are worth a million. An excellent poem. There are wonderful things that Fyn does on WDC. Her writing is highly attractive, first-callibre. This poem is delightful, fulfilling, a place in time on shelves where books ultimately find a resting place. I admired it. Loved reading it. Discover Fyn!
It is this season's Flair Newsletter based on the theme: black cats.
This is a very informational, interesting Newsletter this month. It lends to Halloween with all sorts of excellent tid-bits about this coming Holiday. I never knew that cats that were black can be associated with "anarchism" and that there are so many conflicting stories about the worth of black cats. I digested this Newsletter and re-read it again. I love Flair Newsletter and try to run over in my mind the details given so that I might memorize some of it. This is food for thought that can be very useful and gives to literate enjoyment.
Dandelion Clocks (E) of life and death and dandelions... a mother's words to her child #1997095 by Fi
for Random Acts Of Kindness Group.
First Impressions: Such a lovely, floating puzzle of a poem. This poem speaks well. It has spiritual enlightment to it and gives the reader an uplifting sense of knowing what indeed seasons might be about if they are timed and analyzed. I like the stanzas as they graphically are shown in a very attractive way. This to me, makes this poem special. The meaningful is really apparent, and the God-given spring metamorphosis is detailed with flair. There lies such truth in this poem. The lines are true-to-form. The originality of a good poem. A lovely photo for us to gaze at to find the meaning of the simple dandelion.
Spelling is perfect. The grammar of the poem is excellently correct. One line rhymes. I'm wondering if this is on purpose? The free verse of the poem shows a nice-flowing freedom of lines. I love the style. It is truly unique.
I have no suggestions. It's pretty flawless.
Thanks you, writer. Write on!
