The job would kill me today. I've lost the stamina I once had (never that great anyway). But I'm sure the kids would have been much the same - bright and cheerful as monkeys and almost impossible to tame. Each of them was an individual and our results correspondingly various. But it was the most difficult ones who still made it through that were the most satisfying. Invariably, they'd return to say thanks after leaving us for a year or two. |
