I like everyone's answers so far. My #1 is Teachers as a former teacher, I know firsthand that they get little to no respect, a lot of headaches, and very little pay to go along with it. And now I'd like to add a couple of new ones: Landscape/irrigation. These people are willing to go out in over 100degree Fahrenheit weather in the summer and all other types of weather conditions just to make someone's lawn look nice or their grass greener. They lug around heavy equipment, get mightily dirty, and if they are in irrigation usually get soaked too. They do it with little thanks and little pay - all so someone can have their perfectly manicured green lawn. And what about the linemen (and women) who keep our power going? That's definitely not a job I'd like to do, but they deserve much respect for doing it. They have to have big balls to play with so much electricity - and they have to do it in some of the worst conditions. They definitely deserve our respect. Think of what happens when the power goes out... I like having my electricity personally. |
