Tangerine Dream is one, if not my favorite instrumental bands. They've done a few movies. Risky business was another one. Wavelength was a sci-fi movie, I'd love to see it but can't find it anywhere. Yes, I agree, they can be a bit weird but it's different and that's what makes it interesting to listen to. For myself anyways.
