What an interesting idea for a story, I found this story to be very compelling.
I just loved this story. a teen-ager of 16, is being sent off to be programmed either as a doctor or lawyer, she does not want to go, she wants to stay with her grammy. The characters are believable, the dialogue is good. I thought the concept is like sending a child off to college to be programmed with knowledge.

What a nice little poem you have written. I love rootbeer. I have never had sassafrass though at least I do not think so. I do not know where you are from, but I live in the USA and there is no way right now a doctor would ever visit our home. Maybe in 1950 they would my mom said, but surely not in my lifetime. I was born in 1966 and have never had a doctor visit me at honme. Though in 1942, my dad was born in a little log cabin in Kentucky where a midwife came to my grand ma's house to deliver him. There was no doctor.
