This is a nice and balanced story on life in a small town, the basic inherent habits with controlled opinion. You did a terrific job of describing your character and their humoros relationship through imaginative style. You also managed to add couple of personal items that I as a reader could easily refer to. The smooth flow of writing was more than believable, and I could tell that you are well accustomed to the lifestyle so well articulated. You captured my interest with the first line and held it throughout. And the last line blew me away as I never expected you woulnt want to live there. Great job!

This is a nice and very well organised interactive story. The unique combination of scenarios are intelligently categorised and highlighted. This allows the participants to focus on creative part of rendering a story with all inner ideas and imaginations. This is a heart touching and to some extent a story that brings tears in the eyes of the reader. As I am from a different country and a different culture, however I could feel related to the events that is condemned on a uniformly manner across different religion, creed and culture. I believe in Karma and its universal rule for people and for country as well. If we study history many forward marching countries suffered heavy setback due to policies that doesn't take into account universal law human well being. Recent examples can be Afghanistan wherein as recently as late 70s, people well being was predominant. The events and personal experience you faced with inherent strength and moral speaks a great deal about your inner refinement and strength. I am sure in the next decade you will see the hand of Karma giving the just reply to all these events, and you will be lucky to be able witness them as well. However in your overall narration if you can simplify the emotional events like - I’ll never forget the Indian couple at the furthest cubicle. The woman is in tears, sobbing her heart out as the officer tells her she’ll have to be detained while her husband is allowed to go home to get their affairs in order for deportation. I hear them beg and plead that they’ve lived in the States for over thirty years, have a business, and children. He even pleads that he be the one incarcerated while his wife goes home, for she’s got anxiety issues as well and is on specific medication she cannot afford to skip. Did you think the officers were swayed by this? Absolutely not. Nothing the couple could say or do would change their minds. To think that this poor, sweet-faced, older lady would have to spend the rest of her days in prison until their passports were ready, just about broke my heart. To compound matters, this was going on in the other cubicles as well, and though some managed to compose themselves, I felt the panic rising within me.

Overall words are not enough to express the events you were exposed to. I find in difficult to fathom a persons 20 years of hard work and dream vanishes in couple of days in such an advanced and well oiled legal and educational achievements...Sindbad

I am indeed a fan of Bohemian poetry. I liked the even and ballad style with perfect and balanced capture of the ambiance and premium environment. This is beautiful poem about ballade of the Absinthe Cafe. Some words caught my eyes- schmoozing, Savoir faire.

Yes, from the beginning its about the Absinthe and perfect ambiance. That's perfect enjoyment and stress buster! Your words are so pure true. I like the way you sketched the cafe dynamics.

You described the things like a reader was experiencing all the fun. Your poem is humorous. It's real to cafe experience.
