The story is awesome, it is definitely not what I was expecting. I like the two main characters a lot. The two murderers aren't as likable and aren't as well illustrated. The first half really is good, but the ending is a lot of telling not showing. There are a couple of places that could use another hard return between paragraphs otherwise there isn't really much to criticize.

I love this story. I could see my great uncle Donald doing something like this when my mom was growing up. There are a lot of stories most of them involved him moving to a new state until the statute of limitations was up. He lost his license more times than I have renewed my ID.

Interesting love poem. It sounds almost stalker-esque. The images are a little creepy to me, I'm probably just not getting it. It is a well-built poem with a unique structure.I am trying to get it but I just am not. It sounds like there is loss involved and maybe a second chance at love?

*Gold* My review has been submitted for consideration in "Good Deeds Get CASH!.

This doesn't follow some conventions, dialog is usually held between quotation marks, with each speaker receiving a new paragraph, tags like said or questioned are common but not required. I would recommend reading about things like this to assist you in making your writing more accessible to everyone.

Well, there's that. The numerous descriptive words, while vivid were a little hard to chew on, even for me. I liked the descriptions they formed really strong images in my mind. Still it was a rough read all in one big chunk like that. The last line made me rethink the whole thing in terms of the matrix.

This seems a very thorough self-review . You cover most of the major points that should come up in a good review. One thing I think you should have added is a link to the actual story in case someone like me comes across this review and is intrigued enough to want to read the story itself. To do a link you type

This is a good chapter, it has great characterization and I loved the pov character. I can feel his anxieties and the prejudices he has faced throughout his life through this small sliver of a morning in his life. I like the way his tech works, but have to admit that kind of tech scares me. It feels like one step away from thought police.

Review of What If?

I liked the poem. The way it is just a list of questions leave the reader to answer them for themselves about people in their lives. Everyone has regrets in the past and this poem seems to explore them. I followed through smoothly until the last line. That last question was a shocker, it seems to ask if having a child was a mistake.

Review of Sometimes

This seems unfinished and unorganized. It could be a beautiful free verse poem with just an ounce or two more work. I like the images and sensations it talks about but they could flow just a bit better, and the last line just hangs unfinished. For what it is it is really good.

Review of Control Center

I love the metaphor. My control room needs some sweeping up too. I have a professional do a once over once a week but you can't leave it all to them. You have to do some of the upkeep yourself, get plenty of rest, eat nutritious foods, get plenty of exercise, sort through the junk and dump what should go into the recycle bin.

Review of Tear Me Down

Wow, that is a lot of emotion packed in just a few words. It looks like a fairly long poem, but it says a lot in what seems like so few words. It is about pain, that is clear. And a miserable childhood. Life spent belittled and unappreciated. Pain can lead to beauty and I feel like it lead to a beautiful poem.

It is an interesting take on colorful poetry. There are a couple of typos like ever greens it should be one word. Overall I like the poem and the images it puts into my mind. I felt you could have expanded further into the other senses than just the pine scents.

This was a hard little puzzle to finish. But I did it.

I get a kick out of you
Love and Marriage
Something Stupid
Night and Day
My Romance
Three coins in the fountain
I've got you under my skin
Hey! Jealous lover
Strangers in the night
Your lov for me
Luck be a lady
You'll never know
Close to you
It had to be you
All the way
The best is yet to come
This love of mine
People will say we're in love
My funny valentine
Something
I've got a crush on you
The way you look tonight
All or nothing at all

Oooh scary. I wonder if Natalie succeeded or failed. I am rooting for her, but I doubt she succeeded I suspect it is the students themselves that are "bugged" I would bet Natalie is the one that outed her father's use of the forbidden word, and for that reason, I am betting that Natalie's plan failed.

This is a short but sweet introduction to various poetic forms. I recognize some of them others not so much. I have been writing a poem a week for thirty six weeks now as a part of the "Promptly Poetry Challenge (2023-2024). I don't know if you are trying it but it is really fun exploring poetry.

Review of Dreidre

I think this is a love poem? I found the verbiage a little muddy on that account. But it seems to be about a girl named Dreidre. Some of the images are clear. Using a music box to escape the realities of this world. But to be honest I don't understand this poem very well.

That is a cool story. It opened a window to a part of the world I have never experienced. It reminds me of my neighbor. He was a championship pool player until he almost lost his hands in a work accident. He still plays pool shark at the local bar for drinks but he too is careful not to take too much.

Short but sweet story. I love the red in the neck comments. I guess I would be a little red in the neck too, bonfires and unkempt backyard check and check. Do you take away the red in the neck card if somebody doesn't drink beer? i love gretta the gypsy too. that is hilarious.

Review of Life and Death

This revised version is quite a bit easier to read. The paragraph starting with "Two roads in a yellow wood." is still a bit long but not intolerably so. It makes the point of the piece easier to follow and brightens up the overall message this piece is trying to put across.

This is a very complex analysis of the subject. It was hard to read, I understood the vocabulary though others might choke on it. What made it difficult for me was the fine print and the extremely long paragraphs. They were bites too big to chew and swallow. Subdividing the paragraphs into more targeted smaller paragraphs would make this more readable. And make sure you aren't using words just to say you used them, at least when there are simpler terms.

This is a good poem about a night out at a restaurant. I remember back when we did things like that. Good times. There is some pretty good characterization in this poem Batiste seems interesting. It sounds like a very enjoyable meal. I'm not sure what prompted this poem but I enjoyed reading it

A clear concise outline of the things that the character has experienced. Still, it doesn't quite tell me who she is. It also gives me no picture of what she looks like. Is she a neat person, or a slob. Did she have a goth phase. What were her economic circumstances? Was she poor? Rich? Middle class? What were her childhood expectations. What did she wish for on her sixth birthday?

powerful poem. I get what you are saying. I wrote a short story along a similar theme. I do think you mean breathe not breath. other than that I would offer no criticism. My criticism would be of a social structure that makes this poem so easily understood.

I really feel the angst of the author. It can be hard to see anything positive in life when you are constantly saying goodbye. It was hard for me and painful. I offer many sympathies. This is a short piece but it gives a clear picture of the protagonist's headspace. I don't see any real major mechanical issues. Good job.

It is a lovely story. I love wiener dogs, I used to have two, one red shorthaired female named Ashley and her younger aunt a black and tan dapple named Tinkers. Dachshunds are surprisingly tough for small dogs. They have more spunk and fight in them than any pitbull I have ever met. If they were larger I would be scared. Still, they are so damn cute. Good job of capturing the personality of a very opinionated breed.
