Harry, in a stunning poem
five stars of shame,
why the white man so evil
his pleasure there,
to hunt them down dying,
Red Indians
laid to rest in the West.

My tiny poem attached
understanding
their fate today.

Practice what you preach never easy for me
anger and weeping in a poem of sorrow,
my mind unable to grasp a lie of the mighty
all powerful without mercy for the innocent,
hiding dying in their lodges, skins - of buffalo
covering a nation enslaved, democracy denied
by the rich and famous, where are they now?

Dead their bones rotting in hell, a fire burning
brightly with evil deeds for mankind the devil,
detailing laws with commas and dots, what for?
The uneducated a sign language, leave us alone,
long time our custom from birth roaming in tribes,
riding our ponies to the hills, our children laughing
whooping ancient games of old, now starving thin.

The fields filled with memories, dancing a trance
a mind to madness consumed we are drunkards,
their booze poisoned dark to die lonely in a hole,
locked away beautiful in our minds earth our hero,
fields in words of mercy on high, seeds of pride
signals proud Red Indians of old, blood so bold
the color of living strangers disguised the traitors.

Our souls sold for two dollars to die, tell us why
eagle in the sky seeing a new horizon on earth,
trinkets and beads sold to tourists on the reserve.
Our custom we preserve hiding our dignity here
in this land, the world calls it – “Freedom Now.”
Where are we in the land of paradise road,
hiding away where you shamed our heritage?

I lay on my bed staring
the ceiling my fingers
touching my phone,
deciding to write
something I think
of what to write,
and finally sleep.

It makes sense
when drowsy
yet I remain
on the brink,
my conscious
refusing myself
drifting into sleep.

My fingers tremble
in the cool of the night
my legs seems too wobbly,
my body to raise my head turning
into jelly as every thought disappears,
from my mind seconds after they come in
still awake I begin to daydream while awake.

Now wanting to be fully awake neither do I want to be asleep
It is 1,01am far past my bedtime and I have to be in school,
9am remaining enjoying my semi consciousness betraying
I did not know when I closed my eyes and snored loudly,

The shadow I read lovely in a poem
another hopeless romantic,

the scenery
constantly staring,
waiting for mine to meet hers,
even though without reason to trust
some memories,
so beautiful
the conversations
without fear of interruption,
flashbacks come and go without fear.

My eyes glaze over from the constant staring,
Where it seems I'm looking at nothing,
Yet everything at the same time.
A couple of minutes drag on to a couple of hours,
With nothing changed,
Yet everything has.

Flashbacks come and go without fear of interruption,
My good memories, and my bad ones too.
My whole life, it seems,
That my bad memories have left a bigger impression on me,
Then my good ones did,
And every minuscule detail can be remembered in an instant,

When the outcome left me broken
But most recently it seems,
That the only times I can think about,
Are those spent with her.
Our conversations about everything,
Yet nothing at all.

Her eyes,
Oh her eyes,
Intently fixed upon me waiting,
Just waiting for mine to meet hers,
And finally when they do, I quickly turn them away,
For fear of being lost in their beauty.

Her trust,
Her trust even though she has no reason to trust,
For her trust has been broken many times before.
Every detail spent with her can be recalled perfectly,
As if they were some of my worst memories,
Although they were in fact some of my best.
