We find a home owner enjoying his bird neighbors. They come and go as they please. He has always had a soft spot for God's flying creatures. The colors, grace surely catch the eye.
Well now there is more cement than country near his home so Pigeons claim the property.
A great place to find safety, food/feeders and companionship.
The males determined and the females playing hard to get. Walking as if they own the joint and to a degree they do.

I guess we could draw some similarities from them to man. Determined to get a lady. Lady playing hard to get and a great big BBQ/feeder to bring them together.

She suffers from that, so familiar, few last pounds. Try as she might they are hanging on and on. Almost like they would be lost without her to hold on to.

She has special shoes.
She is in pain from head to toe.
She puts on the exercise tape and finds 'perfect people' on the screen.

Life isn't fair, is it?

Here we have a battle of wills. Our character has been hurt by the other and the scars run deep. Arising from the scars comes the hate. The darkness becomes more and more. Every time she sees the other person her face tells of the despise she feels.
To the other, it seems to just add to the satisfaction of the deed.

So how can our character deal with the pain of being considered nothing.
She tries to hide it.
She refuses to let anymore damage come to her.
She plays the part well.
She somehow manages to smile and pretend she has moved on.
There is such a think as Karma; eventually the tables will turn.

What can one mother say to another. TRUER WORDS WERE NEVER SPOKEN.
We try really hard to, somehow, civilize these monkeys. I know I figured eventually they would be hanging by one arm from the rafters. A banana in one hand and a phone in the other.
They might come down to raid the frig but then it's like a tornado.

A man who is upstairs doesn't understand what has happened to him. He notices differences but at least he can still see.
The fighting downstairs, perhaps, came as a result of the deed upstairs.
His wife caught him by surprise. He still could only understand he loved her. She on the other hand felt completely different.
Apparently her boyfriend felt she had gone too far and took off.
As he begins to travel into the light; she must deal with what she has done.

Was she after money?
Did she hate him that much?
Could she just have left and avoided all of this?
Glad the boyfriend turned his back on her.

A man makes him way to his old home. Looking for his love. Entering, a bit hesitant, but calling for the love.
To his relief the love was there as all those years before. This meeting was as necessary to them as the this silent night of wonder.
To hold each other and kiss each other once again.

You set the scene well.
The longing is felt in the piece.
The love that still exists after so long is present as well.
A fleeting moment in time.

Lets look at our character. There were many years where there was no direction. Possibly a habit that no one knew about. As time went by there was more loneliness and isolation.
Then came the fall. Completely lost in this pit of despair and only tears would come.

Then, those that loved came along. They found strength to rise him up and show him a different way. A way to save his life. A way to make tomorrow hold many things.

What do we say to those angels out there, who felt compassion and the need to care. God bless them for all they do and for leading a way to make it through.

It has been said that life is a stage. What happens when a person thinks that those days are over? What if the words said mean little to anyone?What if it appears no one is listening as an audience would.

Think about the past and how you made a statement in your life's stage. Maybe you brought about some change that helped others.

We all age. Our stage doesn't call upon us often. Would you, with your wisdom, still be able to make a difference.

Just because you don't draw a big crowd doesn't mean you don't warrant recognition and praise.

Part of growing up is getting our first car. Now, admittedly, it might not be in the best shape but it is needed. It could even be looked as if it were a status symbol of sorts.

Well, in this case the car breaks down and now comes the need to make it to school. Hitch hiking is one way to get there. Walking is another. Main thing is don't be late.

This is good. This is really good. It should make people think about our society. So fast paced and no one gives a flying flip about anything that use to matter.

Here a man describes his regret for never knowing how his father felt the sense of accomplishment in his time. Sure our author is contributing to society and teaching young people is rewarding.

He however would like to get back to basics for a short time. Be grateful for the small things. We all should remember how precious things use to be. Now, everything and anything can be replaced.

Imagine praying for rain. Not to grow the flowers but for the very survival of your family. The crops need rain to grow and that allows money to come to the family. Farmers still feed us and work hard for us. Think of them sometimes. Maybe even pray for them sometimes. A hardy bunch with hearts of gold is what my grandpa use to say. A mans word is his bond.

What do you do when you put so much into a relationship and have the other person just throw it all away.

When you invest so much of yourself and try to live up to the expectations of the partner; it becomes draining. Then to find out that isn't good enough either. How can one get over that feeling? That total rejection after putting your whole heart into making the other person happy. Forget about your happiness because you put to much on the other person to make them happy. Basically the harder you try the harder and more demands are made.

Before too long it becomes a control issue.
Then comes your self esteem beat down in a dark pit.
So now, the abused person begins to think that this treatment is all they deserve. This horrible emotional draining person is in charge of your every move.

The hurt is still there along with the tears. Breaking free won't be easy but it might save the you inside.

She had an air about her, this mistress of the house. Our character had to clean, while the mistress was about.
Perhaps a bit intimidated by her presence. She is a queen in her own right. With an independent air; yet needing constant attention.

A man tells stories to a youngster about fighting in ditches in the war. There was turtle ditch monster patrolling.

Well by the time the story is told to other kids by the first kid; it turns out that the
Mutant Ninja Turtles became the road to fame and moved to America.

Here the author gives the road a voice. It is always there for each of us. Some of us might be a bit angry at the road cause there is a bump that might cause us to fall. Then there are those that go along that road and know there is no turning back.

The road is there each step or our lives and possibly knows more about us than we do ourselves. The road makes no promises. It also brings us to the point in the road where we must decide whether to change our direction.

So, after learning all this, do we respect this road of life? To we cherish it for leading us along? Do we have the courage to keep going? At the end of that road; we have much to look forward to.

Now this one is in the bad folder as well. I can't help but think about the character depicted here.
We have all run into those people that don't get out much and once they have a listening ear, they won't stop talking.

Our reaction is quietly thinking to ourselves 'will you please just shut up for a minute' ha.

This person goes on and on and on.
She moves from rain, to flowers colors, to stomach medicine and it's smell, to perfume, crying, an finally an umbrella with a ruffle that brings on happiness.

Sometimes people get depressed but they can't quite put a name to it at first. Suddenly they don't feel like themselves. Their interests might be lagging. No desire to go anywhere or do any thing.

After you remain in that funk for a long time; it begins to feel like you are trapped and can't get out.

Falling deeper and deeper into the pit of despair of loosing ones self is frightening.

One will look around and see darkness and wonder where did the light go and why 'me'?

Well at the end of this piece; our character can still see a bit of light. She's a fighter and will fight her way back to 'her'.

Love the title.

Our society thinks of the grocery store when they need something. They might buy a bag of frozen corn but rarely think of what is involved in making it ready for the consumer.

In this piece,however,its field fresh corn processed by regular people to keep their freezer full. Real fresh corn. Man, just think of it and the smell when it's cooking. Then the butter melting, dripping. Messy fingers and mouths. Even a bit on the chin but boy what a treat.

Addiction is the topic of this piece. A man explains how, in the beginning, it seemed like a friend. Something to help ease the pain of everyday life. At times the feeling of being numb was a good idea. Well as time went by he became more and more addicted.
For a while he thought he could handle this situation.
Unfortunately it isn't that easy. Part of him thinks he can beat it and the other knows he can't. After a while he surrenders completely to the constant need of being high.
When his mind might be a bit clear; he doesn't like what he has become.
He knows he is too far gone now.
Hopefully he will get some professional help.
Fight his way back.
Find his life again.

A woman has a very scary night. She wakes to a racing heart and faintness.
So she does what she should she tries to reach for help. Well she can only get an appointment a few days later. Then test are run in the doctors office. Then she must wait for some blood results.
Meanwhile this woman goes home and waits and hopes it doesn't happen again.

{Just my opinion}
She should have been admitted and monitored. It sounds like arrhythmia and that's nothing to put off. They could have kept her safely in the hospital until all the mystery was solved. Letting her go home to uncertainty is neglect as far as I am concerned. I for one know about neglect and being treated like 'no big deal'
